Today my boyfriend Dymian and I went to check out the Bible Study that some of the church members from Hope 968 (John and Cindy) were just starting. Grant so happened to be there as well (he manages all the P.A. system and does sound check for the worship team) and he gave me a copy of a recording that we did on one Sunday before church service began. As I listened to the recording, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I knew we could be so much better. That's the thing about me. When it comes to anything, I want people to use their skill or gift to the uttermost potential as possible. Because the outcome is just so great to people who do witness it.
Another thought that I began to ponder on was how could our worship team glorify God better? The worship team went through a lot of changes just recently and it so happens that the church was going through a lot as well. Before it was Josh and Sheri (an amazing couple that could sing and play some really awesome guitar music at the same time) and there was Pastor Joel (who could probably play bass with his eyes closed) and then there was me on the piano on the worship team. I realized during that time I depended a lot on Josh and Sheri when it came to playing....they were both very good leaders and knew the music in and out. All I had to do was just fill in some piano background music and my part was good to go. Now that they were gone, I had eventually asked my sister to help us out on the guitar and then Annette and PJ (two amazing singers who could probably go on American Idol) joined as well. And last week a guy named Frederick joined us on the congos. With all of our different backgrounds and interests in Christian music, I'm hoping that everything will come together and that the music will just fall in place. But most importantly, I really hope God is pleased with the music that we play...
